During World War II British Government faced severe
crunch of metallic supplies. The worst effect was supply of coins especially in
small change. The situation became worse; so many princely states of India,
some of them tiny and insignificant issued Cash Coupons to manage the emergency
and serious crunch in small denomination coin. Bamra State a tiny “A” class Feudatory
state renown as stamp issuing state around the world from 1888 to 1894 was the
only state of the Eastern States Agency to issue a Cash Coupon during 1944 which
was valid till 1945. The Cash Coupon is having a Facsimile signature of the
last ruler Raja Bhanuganga Tribhuban Dev to authenticate the genuinity of the
Cash Coupon.
